Elizabeth Smithers has extensive legal experience, currently serving as Interim Lead Counsel, Senior Assistant City Attorney, and Assistant City Attorney for the City of Charlotte, specifically supporting Charlotte Douglas International Airport since November 2012. Prior to this role, Elizabeth attended Charlotte School of Law from 2009 to 2012 and completed a JD. Earlier experience includes a position as HR Leadership Development Analyst at Bank of America from June 2006 to July 2009. Elizabeth also holds a BA in Communications and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earned from 2001 to 2005, and is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) in Cyber, Intelligence, and National Security Law at George Mason University - Antonin Scalia Law School, beginning in August 2021.
