Mark Griffin serves as the Law Director and Chief Legal Counsel for the City of Cleveland since January 2022. Prior to this role, Griffin was the Inspector General and Chief Ethics Officer for Cuyahoga County from April 2015 to January 2022, where the appointment was made by the County Executive and confirmed unanimously by County Council. Griffin has extensive legal experience, including roles as a shareholder at Thorman Petrov Griffin, Co., LPA, representing clients in workplace discrimination and litigation matters, and as Democratic Representative and Vice-Chair of the Ohio Ballot Board. Educational achievements include a JD summa cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
