Derek Jackson is an experienced public administrator with a diverse background in city management and community development. Currently serving as Interim City Manager for the City of Collinsville since November 2017, Derek has also held the roles of Deputy City Manager, Community Development Director, and Assistant City Manager within the same organization. Prior experience includes the position of Building and Zoning Supervisor for the City of Highland, Illinois, and Planning Coordinator for Madison County Planning and Development. Derek began the professional journey as a Planning Intern at the City of Creve Coeur, MO. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Public Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
