Community Reuse Area Planner at City of Concord

Joan Ryan is an experienced planner with a focus on community development and reuse. Currently, as the Community Reuse Area Planner for the City of Concord since August 2016, Joan coordinates the project team for the Concord Reuse Project Specific Plan. Prior roles at the City of Concord include managing advanced planning projects, overseeing the Housing Division, and processing projects in current planning. Experience also includes serving as a Senior Planner for the City of Oakley, where Joan managed local subdivision projects and the East Cypress Corridor Specific Plan. Joan's early career included planning roles at EDAW, Inc. (now AECOM) and as City Planner for the City of Concord. Educational qualifications include a Certificate in Parks and Recreation System Master Planning from Indiana University Bloomington and a BS in Urban Planning from Arizona State University.
