Joseph B. has extensive work experience in various roles. Joseph started their career as a Firefighter/EMT at Point Pleasant Fire District in 2002 and worked there until 2005. In 2005, they joined the City of Covington, Kentucky, where they held multiple positions. Joseph worked as an Engineer from 2011 to 2016, Lieutenant from 2016 to 2018, Truck Captain from 2018 to 2020, and Fire Inspector and Safety Officer from 2020 to 2021. Currently, they serve as the Battalion Chief, responsible for leading a 38-person shift across five fire stations. In addition, Joseph has acquired and managed over $4 million in grant funding since 2016 and contributed to various projects and responsibilities. Before joining the City of Covington, they were employed at Comair from 1999 to 2010, mainly in a Customer Service role. Joseph also served in the United States Army Reserve as a Staff Sergeant from 2000 to 2008, gaining valuable military intelligence and operational experience.
Joseph B. has a strong educational background with degrees and certifications in various fields. Joseph started their education journey in 2012 at Thomas More University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2014. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the same university from 2014 to 2016.
Joseph's thirst for knowledge continued, and in 2020, they enrolled at Indiana Institute of Technology to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Joseph chose the field of study as Global Leadership & Organizational Management, indicating their interest in understanding and contributing to the field.
In addition to their formal education, Joseph B. has also obtained several certifications. In 2005, they completed certifications in Incident Command 100, 200, 700, & 800 from FEMA. Joseph further enhanced their skills in emergency management by obtaining the Advanced ICS-400 Command and General Staff-Complex Incidents certification from the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service in October 2019. In September 2019, Joseph acquired Intermediate ICS-300 for Expanding Incidents certification from the same institution.
Further diversifying their credentials, Joseph B. became a Certified Rescue Technician in August 2009 through Bowling Green State University. Lastly, in March 2019, they earned the Fire Investigation Technician certification from the International Association of Arson Investigators.
