Thomas Check

Thomas Check, PE, TE, currently serves as Senior Traffic Engineer for the City of Culver City, a position held since April 2023. Prior experience includes a role as Traffic Engineer for the City of Santa Monica from September 2017 to April 2023, where responsibilities encompassed leading and approving traffic engineering designs that promoted a Safe System approach and included projects such as new traffic signals and protected bicycle facilities. Additional roles at the City of Santa Monica include acting Principal Traffic Engineer and Civil Engineering Associate, focusing on regulatory programs for wireless tower permitting and reviewing private development plans. Previous experience also includes working as a Civil Engineering Associate with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, where analysis of hydrologic data contributed to groundwater management efforts. Thomas Check holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California.
