Jim Odean

Jim Odean began their work experience in 1998 as a Lead Customer Service Rep at MidAmerican Energy. Jim then worked at Muscatine Power and Water from 2001 to 2008, where they served as a Customer Services Supervisor, managing twenty employees and overseeing various divisions. Since 2008, Jim has been employed by the City of Davenport, where they initially worked as an Operations Analyst, providing administrative leadership and support for divisions within Public Works and Finance. Jim then advanced to the role of Revenue Manager, where they successfully managed customer accounts and implemented strategic goals for revenue. Currently, Jim serves as the Assistant Finance Director for the City of Davenport.

Jim Odean completed their education as follows:

From 1989 to 1995, they attended the University of Northern Iowa and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.

From 1999 to 2002, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business at St. Ambrose University.

Following this, they enrolled at St. Ambrose University again from 2003 to 2009 and earned a Master of Accountancy (MACC) degree with a specialization in Accounting.

In August 2011, they became a Certified Public Funds Investment Manager through the Association of Public Treasurers of the US and Canada.

In June 2012, they achieved the designation of Advanced Certified Public Funds Investment Manager from the same institution.

Jim Odean obtained their first certification as a Certified Public Finance Administrator in August 2013, awarded by the Association of Public Treasurers of the US and Canada.

Lastly, they obtained the certification of Certified Public Finance Officer twice, firstly in December 2018, and then again in January 2019, both from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
