Seth Stark

Seth Stark has a diverse range of work experience in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data analysis. Seth has held roles such as Chief Data Officer for the City of Decatur Illinois, where they were responsible for managing data and performance outcome statistics to support governance and policy development. Prior to this, they served as a GIS Administrator for the same city, advocating for the use of GIS technology and developing web-based and mobile applications for office and field staff.

In addition, Seth has worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Richland Community College, teaching GIS courses. Seth also worked as a Geographic Information Systems Consultant for local government organizations, where they analyzed processes and translated customer needs into viable GIS solutions.

Earlier in their career, Seth served as a GIS Coordinator for the City of Garden Grove, maintaining GIS data and apps and advocating for GIS usage. Seth also worked as a GIS Analyst for TRC Companies, Inc., providing support in GIS projects, and as a GIS Analyst/Developer at CH2M HILL, where they prepared and supervised GIS projects and supported project teams.

Seth's career in the GIS field began as a Student Assistant at Caltrans, where they aided planners and engineers, collected air traffic information, and searched title records in the CalTrans Right-of-Way archives office.

Seth Stark has a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Science and Religion from Biola University, which they obtained from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Geography from California State University-Sacramento, attending from 1999 to 2002. Seth also completed general education courses at Shasta Community College from 1997 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained a certification in ArcGIS Enterprise: Administration Workflows from Esri in 2022.
