Ziad Kharrat, RLA, MPA, CPRE, currently serves as the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Denton, overseeing policy administration and operational improvements for the city’s park system since February 2024. Prior experience includes over seven years as the Parks Special Projects Administrator for the City of Garland, where Ziad led planning and development initiatives with a $150M Capital Improvement Program budget, managed comprehensive Strategic Master Plans, and represented the city in inter-agency partnerships. Ziad has also owned Z Land Designs, LLC, where landscape architecture services were provided, and worked as an Assistant Project Manager at Land Design Studio. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Affairs and a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management from The University of Texas at Dallas, alongside a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University.
