Gloria J. Ludwig, MMC, has served as the City Clerk for the City of Des Plaines since May 2009, following re-election in April 2013. Prior to this role, Gloria held the position of Deputy Village Clerk for the Village of Hanover Park from August 1971 to June 1976, working alongside Village Clerks Louis F. Barone and Sonya A. Ludwig has also held the position of President for the Municipal Clerks' Association North and Northwest Suburbs in Cook County, Illinois, from 2015 to 2016. Educational achievements include becoming a Fellow of the Athenian Leadership Society through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks from 2010 to 2015, obtaining certification as a Municipal Clerk from the Municipal Clerks of Illinois from 2009 to 2013, and earning a Paralegal degree from Harper College from 1978 to 1981.
