Jim Bagby currently serves as the District Director for Congressman Gaetz in Florida's 1st Congressional District, a position held since December 2022. In addition, Jim Bagby is a City Councilman for the City of Destin, providing leadership on various initiatives for four terms. As a licensed REALTOR and Graduate of the Realtor Institute, Jim Bagby works with the Premier Property Group. Previous roles include General Manager at One Seagrove Place and Vice Chairman, later Chairman of the Board of Directors for Veterans Florida, where contributions were made to enhance support for veterans. Jim Bagby also held the position of Interim President and CEO at the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce and served as Executive Director of Visit South Walton, significantly boosting its revenue and recognition. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master's in Public Administration from Western Kentucky University.

The City of Destin offers many services to our community. Residents get free use of our boat launch facility and free pass to the State Beach park. Our recreation department offers several sports programs, children's activities, special events, etc. Our City Manager, one of our Council members, and our Mayor all were voted respective position of the years by the Florida League of Cities.
