James Foster

James Foster possesses extensive experience in municipal engineering and development coordination, currently serving as Manager 1 at the City of Detroit since April 2015. In this role, James has been instrumental in establishing facilities such as the Development Resource Center, One Stop Permit Shop, and Electronic Plan Review. Previously, James held the position of Project Manager at Giffels-Webster Engineers, where consultation on municipal engineering and permitting processes was provided. Prior experience includes serving as Development Coordinator at Great Lakes Geomatics LLC, focusing on right-of-way issues for large-scale commercial and residential projects. James began the professional journey at Great Lakes Geomatics, continuing to build a robust expertise in development coordination and engineering. James holds an education from the University of Detroit and Wayne State University.
