Michele Oberholtzer Zimmerman currently serves as a Housing Program and Policy Advisor in the Housing and Revitalization Department for the City of Detroit and previously held the role of Chief Policy Advisor in the Mayor's Office. With a strong background in housing and community revitalization, Michele directed the Tax Foreclosure Prevention program at the United Community Housing Coalition from March 2016 to April 2021, and was a candidate for State Representative in District 4 for the Michigan House of Representatives in both 2017 and 2020. Additional experience includes serving as Executive Director of The Tricycle Collective, where efforts focused on preventing tax foreclosure issues and stabilizing Detroit communities. Michele's earlier roles included Senior Account Manager at Bright Power, Inc., Market Analyst at NextEnergy, and participation in the Cleanweb Hackathon. Michele earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
