Sam Krassenstein

Sam Krassenstein serves as the Chief of Infrastructure for the City of Detroit since June 2016, leading the Mayor's infrastructure initiatives and overseeing major projects, including coordination with various government agencies and managing project funding. Krassenstein has held multiple roles within the city, including Interim Director of the Office of Mobility Innovation, focusing on micro-mobility programs and private-sector mobility technology deployments, and as a Transportation and Infrastructure Advisor, managing the city's infrastructure coordination program. An alumnus of the University of Michigan, Sam Krassenstein holds an MBA and a Master's in Urban Planning, with research focused on utilizing data for enhanced city operations. Additional experience includes various roles in volunteer coordination and consulting for federal agencies.
