Brian Taylor

Brian Taylor is an experienced urban planner currently serving as the Principal Transportation Planner for the City of Durham since 2019. Prior to this role, Brian worked as a Regional Planner for the Southeast Tennessee Development District from 2016 to 2019 and held the position of Principal at Chipley Consulting, LLC from 2014 to 2016, focusing on land use planning, public engagement, and economic development. Additional experience includes roles as a Regional Planner at the Land-of-Sky Regional Council and an Analyst at the NC Office of Economic Recovery and Investment. Earlier positions involved work with the NC League of Municipalities and as a Research Associate at both C3E, Kenan-Flagler Business School, and the Corporation for Enterprise Development. Brian holds a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning with a specialization in Economic Development, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
