Sheldon Perkins

Sheldon Perkins has extensive experience in law enforcement, currently serving as a Lieutenant in the Training Division of the City of Durham since January 2015. In this role, Sheldon assists in supervising the Criminal Investigations Division and oversees the operations of multiple specialized units, including Homicide, Special Victims, Domestic Violence, and Financial Crimes. Prior to this, Sheldon held various positions within the Durham Police Department, including Assistant Commander of the Training Division, Supervisor of the Homicide Unit, and Watch Commander for Uniform Patrol. Beginning a career in policing in September 1999, Sheldon has consistently focused on investigations and community safety. Education was completed at Wake Technical Community College.
