Romy Fitschen

Romy Fitschen, MPA, currently serves as a Budget & Accounting Analyst for the City of East Lansing since October 2025. Prior to this role, Romy was the Controller at Opportunity Resource Fund from March 2020 to October 2025, overseeing accounting functions, compliance, financial reporting, and auditing for a Community Development Financial Institution. Romy also held the position of Associate Executive Director at the Michigan Library Association from 2016 to March 2020, managing finance, accounting, and operational functions. As Fiscal & Operations Director for the Michigan Coalition To End Domestic and Sexual Violence from 1997 to 2016, Romy was responsible for financial, accounting, and human resource operations for a $1.5 million budget. Earlier experience includes serving as Company Manager at BoarsHead Theater from 1991 to 1997, where Romy managed financial operations and grant administration. Romy holds a Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Kent State University, along with a BA in Theater Arts from Beloit College.
