Alexander McClean

Alexander McClean, AICP, PP, currently serves as Principal Planner for the City of East Orange since September 2024, following a tenure as Chief Policy and Compliance Officer in Jersey City's Division of Affordable Housing from March 2021 to September 2024. McClean's professional experience encompasses a variety of planning roles, including positions at equity environmental engineering, NYC Department of City Planning, NYC Department of Environmental Protection, and NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development. McClean has been involved in preparing environmental assessments, managing projects related to water and sewer infrastructure, and addressing affordable housing policy compliance. Additionally, McClean has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor and has background experience in regulatory research and campaign finance management. McClean holds a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University and a Bachelor's degree in History from Stony Brook University.
