Susan L. Barnes

Susan L. Barnes is a seasoned consultant specializing in economic development, community, and business development, with expertise demonstrated through their private consulting firm since September 2010. Current roles include Mobility Manager and Fuse Executive Advisor for the City of East Palo Alto since October 2018, and prior experience as the Interim Economic Development Manager for the City of San Mateo in 2016. Barnes has also directed the San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Program from 2014 to 2016 and served as the Economic Development and Redevelopment Manager for the City of Palo Alto from 1998 to 2010. Earlier career highlights include managing Employment and Small Business Programs in the City of San Jose from 1991 to 1998. Educationally, Barnes holds both a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
