Yazmin Arellano

Yazmin Arellano, PE, PLS serves as the Director of Engineering Services and Director of Public Works for the City of El Cajon, a position held since April 2016, following previous roles as Deputy Director of Public Works and City Engineer. Prior experience includes over 16 years as the Public Works Director and City Engineer for the City of Brawley. Yazmin Arellano has extensive oversight over various divisions, including Engineering, Water Distribution, Water Treatment, Wastewater Collection, Wastewater Treatment, Streets, Airport, Animal Control, Solid Waste, and Vehicle Maintenance Shop. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration from CETYS Universidad and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
