Alex Hoffman

Alex Hoffman, AICP, CNU-A has extensive experience in urban planning and capital projects, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Capital Planning at City Design Lab since January 2019. Prior to this role, Alex worked for The City of El Paso, Texas, holding various positions including Deputy Director of Planning & Inspections and Planning Division Director from April 2012 onward. Alex also contributed to the Communities First Fund as a fellow in Transformative Justice Infrastructure from April to December 2023. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Planner in York, PA, and participating in the Planning Division while in Columbus. Academic qualifications include a Master of City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies/Affairs from the University of Cincinnati, along with completed coursework in Real Estate Development from Harvard University.
