Jay W. Cox

Jay W. Cox is a seasoned architectural professional with extensive experience spanning over two decades in various leadership roles. Currently serving as the Managing Partner at COBU Architecture Studio since August 2018, Jay has also contributed significantly to the City of Elgin, IL, in multiple capacities, including Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Property Maintenance Board of Appeals. Previous experience includes positions as Project Architect and Project Manager at BSB Design, where responsibilities encompassed coordinating project operations and leading drafting teams. Jay has held architectural roles at notable firms such as Archiplan International and Wold Architects and Engineers, managing substantial projects in hospitality, education, and other sectors. Jay served with the United States Navy Reserve, attaining the role of EA2 and contributing to operational support. Academic qualifications include a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois Chicago.
