John Ignacio Kennedy

John Ignacio Kennedy serves as the City Attorney for the City of Emeryville since March 2022, following a long tenure at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office from January 1995 to February 2022, where Kennedy held the position of Deputy City Attorney, primarily within various teams including Trial and Government. Additionally, Kennedy acted as Senate Legal Counsel for the Senate for the Republic of Palau from April 2000 to April 2001, focusing on legislative drafting and legal advice across multiple domains. Earlier experience includes serving as Council Deputy for Mayor John Heilman in the City of West Hollywood, where responsibilities encompassed constituent relations and legislative matters. Kennedy earned a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy & World Affairs from Occidental College.
