Lara Biggs has extensive experience in the field of civil engineering. Lara began their career in 1996 as a Project Engineer at Carollo Engineers, where they worked until 1999. Lara then joined CTE as a Project Engineer for a year before moving to Greeley and Hansen in 2000, where they worked as a Project Engineer until 2005. Lara then joined Earth Tech as a Project Manager from 2005 to 2007. Lara joined the City of Evanston in 2007 and held various roles, including Superintendent of Construction & Field Services and Bureau Chief - Capital Planning / City Engineer. In their current role at the City of Evanston, Lara oversees a $35 million capital improvement program and supervises a team responsible for managing capital projects.
Lara Biggs earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. Lara further pursued their education at the same university, obtaining a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Environmental Engineering from 1994 to 1996. In terms of certifications, Lara is a LEED Accredited Professional, obtained from the USGBC in 2006. Lara is also a Professional Engineer, having received this certification from the State of Illinois in January 2000 and from the State of California in 1999.
