Joanna Sheehan Bell

Joanna Sheehan Bell has a diverse work experience in the arts and culture sector. Joanna currently serves as the Arts and Culture Director for the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Marketing and Communications at TheatreSquared from 2017 to 2022.

Earlier in their career, Joanna worked at the American Theatre Wing as the Director of Programs from 2011 to 2017, and prior to that, they held the role of Management Associate for Grants and Education Programming from 2007 to 2011.

Before their time at the American Theatre Wing, Joanna worked as the House Manager at the Shakespeare Theatre Company from 2003 to 2006. Joanna also gained experience as a Program Manager in Education at the Transportation Intermediaries Association from 2002 to 2005.

Joanna's career in the arts began at Studio Theatre, where they served as the Executive Assistant to the Artistic Director and Managing Director from 2001 to 2002.

Joanna Sheehan Bell's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Theatre from James Madison University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2001. Joanna then pursued further education and earned two master's degrees. From 2006 to 2008, they attended Teachers College, Columbia University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Arts Management. During the same period, they also studied at Columbia University and earned a Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration and Non-Profit Management.

In addition to their formal education, Joanna Sheehan Bell has obtained several certifications. In July 2022, they completed the "Leading with Vision" certification from LinkedIn. Joanna also completed the "Project Management Foundations: Communication" and "Strategic Thinking" certifications from LinkedIn in the same month and year. Prior to that, they obtained the "Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Essential Training" certification from LinkedIn in May 2022.
