Catherine Vorrasi, CPM, CPRP, has an extensive work experience in various roles within the parks and recreation industry. Catherine is currently serving as the Parks & Recreation Director for the City of Fernandina Beach. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Leisure Services for the City of Bartow from 2019 to 2022. Catherine also served as the Facility Director - CORE for the City of Hobbs from 2017 to 2019. Their experience includes working as the Sports & Aquatics Director and Director of Sales and Member Engagement for the YMCA of Southern Arizona from 2015 to 2017. Catherine also held the positions of Aquatics Manager and Management Assistant for the Town of Oro Valley from 2008 to 2015. Catherine's early career involved working as an intern and substitute teacher for physical education at Fairfax County Public Schools, and as the Head Swim Team Coach for Belmont Country Club. Catherine also served as the Aquatics Director for the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington and the Pool Manager/Head Swim Team Coach for Chestnut Forks Athletic Club. Catherine's experience in the field includes managing staff, organizing practices and swim meets, scheduling lifeguards and instructors, managing budgets, and overseeing day-to-day operations.

Catherine Vorrasi, CPM, CPRP, has a strong educational background in the fields of Sports, Recreation, and Tourism Management. Catherine obtained a Master's degree (MS) in Sports, Recreation, and Tourism Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree (BS) in Physical Education and Health at George Mason University, from 2003 to 2007.

In addition to their academic achievements, Catherine has also obtained various certifications related to their field. Catherine holds certifications from the National Recreation and Park Association, including Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), and Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI). Furthermore, they have achieved the certification of Certified Public Manager from Florida State University.
