James Greenwood has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and industries. James started their career in the US Army as a Specialist from 1987 to 1996. James then worked as an IT Administrator/Electrical Drafter at Pieper Houston Electric from 2004 to 2009 and as an Electrical Designer at Kalluri Group from 2005 to 2010. James then transitioned into the tech industry, serving as a Technical Support Analyst at Bridge Services from 2010 to 2011 and as a Network Support Specialist at TLC Office Systems from 2011 to 2013. James then took on the role of City IT Manager at City of Webster from 2013 to 2021, where they led IT projects, monitored system performance, and provided troubleshooting support. James then worked as a Systems Administrator at City of Dickinson, Texas from 2021 to 2022, where they managed software installations and upgrades, handled Microsoft Office 365, and provided desktop support. Currently, James is serving as the Deputy Director of IT - Cybersecurity at City of Friendswood since 2022.

James Greenwood has a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from Webster University (2019-2020). Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from DeVry University (2003-2005). James'sassociate degree in Mechanical Engineering was earned from San Jacinto College (1991-1995). In addition, James has a CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA, which they obtained in April 2023.
