Scott Vetterick has extensive work experience in various roles within the emergency services and healthcare industries. Scott began their career in 1994 as a Paramedic/Assistant Supervisor for an emergency (911) system in North Texas. Scott then worked as a Clinical Base Manager & Flight Paramedic with the North Texas LifeStar & Columbia helicopter air medical programs from 1996 to 2000. In 2001, Scott became a Commercial Airline Pilot for Atlantic Southeast Airlines. From 2002 to 2013, they worked as a Flight Paramedic / RN for CareFlite, providing advanced care to critically injured patients. Scott also worked as an Emergency Department RN at Baylor Scott & White Health from 2009 to 2012. Since 2005, they have been employed by the City of Frisco, where they have held various positions, including Deputy Chief of the Frisco Fire Department, Battalion Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, and Firefighter/Paramedic/Driver. Scott's roles at the City of Frisco involve managing and overseeing the daily operations of the assigned division, providing direction and planning for divisional operations and development.

Scott Vetterick has a diverse education history. Scott completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration / Psychology at Austin College in 1996. Following this, they obtained a degree as an Emergency Medical Technician / Paramedic from UT Southwestern Medical Center in 1993. Scott then pursued an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree from Excelsior University in 2008. Moving forward, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Colorado State University in 2013. Presently, Scott is enrolled in The University of Texas at Arlington and is expected to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2023. Furthermore, they are currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Dallas, with an expected completion date in 2022.

In addition to their educational achievements, Scott Vetterick has obtained several certifications. Scott is a Licensed Paramedic (LP) through the Texas Department of State Health Services and a Registered Nurse (RN) through the Texas Board of Nursing. Scott also holds certifications from various institutions including the AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. These certifications include CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument Instructor (Airplane Single & Multi Engine), Commercial Pilot (Airplane Single & Multi-Engine Land Instrument), Executive Fire Officer (EFO), and Fire Service Chief Executive Officer (FSCEO).
