Amanda Pippen

Health Director at City of Garland

Amanda Pippen has a diverse work experience in the public sector. Amanda began their career in 2004 working for the City of Garland as an Environmental Health Specialist and later became a Senior Environmental Health Specialist. Amanda then took on the role of Field Supervisor-Health Dept before eventually becoming an Environmental Health Manager. In 2022, they joined Wylie ISD as an Operations Coordinator before transitioning to a similar role at the City of Garland in 2023. Currently, they are the Health Director for the City of Garland.

Amanda Pippen completed their Bachelor of Science in Bioenvironmental Science at Texas A&M University from 1996 to 2000. Amanda continued their education at the same university, obtaining a Master of Science in Soil Sciences from 2000 to 2002. In terms of additional certifications, Amanda obtained the Certified Professional - Food Safety (CP-FS) certification from the National Environmental Health Association in January 2006. Amanda also acquired the Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (REHSRS) certification from the same institution in January 2007. Most recently, in February 2021, Amanda obtained a Noncommercial Political Pesticide Applicator License from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
