Mathew Jones has extensive experience in public works and utilities, currently serving as Deputy Director of Public Works and Utilities for the City of Gilroy since June 2022. Prior to this role, Mathew was the Public Works Superintendent for the City of Marina from October 2020 to June 2022 and worked as a Compliance Specialist for Padre Dam Municipal Water District from January 2014 to October 2020, where responsibilities included managing compliance operations and collaborating with health departments. Mathew began a career in public works as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the City of La Mesa, CA, from June 2004 to January 2014, leading a team in infrastructure projects and staff recruitment. Mathew holds a Master of Public Administration from San Diego State University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management with a focus on Project Management from The University of Arizona Global Campus.
