Bessye Adams

Bessye Adams is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in various educational and governmental roles. Currently serving as City Councilwoman for the City of Grand Prairie since June 2023, Bessye also holds the position of Financial Controller and Interim CFO at DeSoto Independent School District since September 2022. Prior to these roles, Bessye served as Sr. Director of Accounting at Uplift Education and Director of Financial Operations at Texan Can Academies. Additional experience includes positions as Budget Analyst at Dallas Independent School District and Grant Accountant at UT Southwestern Medical Center, along with earlier roles in accounting and admissions coordination at Ivey Mechanical Company and Morehouse College. Bessye holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Jackson State University and an MBA from Amberton University.
