Joel Hondorp

Joel Hondorp has an extensive background in public service and administration, currently serving as the City Clerk for the City of Grand Rapids since April 2018. Prior experience includes roles as a firefighter and clerk for Byron Township from November 2000 to June 2022, with responsibilities encompassing elections, payroll, accounts payable, cemeteries, and records management. Additionally, Joel Hondorp served as a trustee for Byron Township between 1996 and 2000, and as Field Director for MRSC from 1995 to 2000. From January to November 1999, Joel was the Legislative Director for the Michigan House of Representatives. Joel's educational background includes a BA in Political Science from Michigan State University and participation in the Michigan Political Leadership Program.
