Payton Novak

Payton Novak, P.E. is an experienced civil engineer currently serving as an Assistant Project Manager for the City of Grand Rapids since July 2025. Prior to this role, Payton worked at Prein&Newhof from January 2016 to July 2025 as an Engineer and previously gained experience as a Construction Inspector during a summer position in 2015. Payton's engineering career began as an Engineering Technician at Soils and Materials Engineers, where responsibilities included testing cast-in-place concrete, evaluating compaction for foundations, and obtaining MCA/ACI Level I certification. Payton also spent a brief period as an Operator at Cascade Engineering in the summer of 2011. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University, completed in 2015, further supports Payton's technical expertise in the field.
