Sara Lowenthal, AINS, has extensive experience in the insurance industry. Sara currently serves as the Director of Safety & Risk Management at the City of Hartford, where they are responsible for managing the property and liability claims of the city, the Board of Education, and the Hartford Public Libraries. Sara also oversees workers' compensation claims, including the establishment of a return to work program and managed care plan. In addition, Sara conducts annual workers' compensation audits, manages broker and third-party administrator relationships, and handles contract analysis and compliance management. Prior to their current role, Sara held positions at Starr Insurance Companies as the Director of Operations and Vendor Services and as the Director of Claims Operations and Systems. Sara also worked at Chubb as an IT system analyst and at AIG as a business system analyst. Sara began their career at Chubb as an operations analyst.
Sara Lowenthal obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General with a minor in Sociology from Roanoke College. Sara completed their degree program at Roanoke College from 1995 to 1999. In 2017, Sara obtained the Associate in General Insurance (AINS Designation) from The Institutes. Additionally, they have a certification in Supervisory Management, although the exact date of certification is not provided.
