Councilor Fred Nachtigal was elected to the Council in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. As a lifelong Hillsboro resident and businessman, both living and working in the downtown area, he wants to work to maintain the vitality and livability of the city he calls home. He currently serves on the Finance Committee and has also been involved in the Tuality Hospital Board, Valley Catholic School Board, Hillsboro Optimist Club and the All Saints Episcopal Church.
His Oregon roots are seen in his educational background. Fred graduated from Hillsboro High School, Southern Oregon University and Lewis and Clark College. For many years, he was an attorney at the law firm Nachtigal, Eisenstein & Associates.
In his free time, Fred enjoys reading, motorcycle riding, skiing, knitting, and poker.
Fred and Gayle Nachtigal have two grown daughters.
