Shawn Burgess has a diverse and extensive work experience in the financial services industry. Shawn began their career in 2001 at InterCept/Internet Billing Company, where they served as Controller and Assistant Controller. In 2004, they joined Aequicap as a Corporate Controller and held the position until 2011. Shawn then joined Spectra Data Group as Chief Financial Officer until 2013. Since 2013, they have been working at the City of Hollywood, Florida, first as City Treasurer and then as Assistant Director of Financial Services/City Treasurer.
Shawn Burgess has a Bachelor of Accounting degree and a Master of Accounting degree from Florida International University. Additionally, they have obtained the certification of Certified Public Accountant from the State of Florida.
