Atul Dhir

Dr. Atul Dhir is a physician and a scientist with over 30 years of leadership experience in leading innovative companies across a broad spectrum of health care industries, including the provider, payer and biotech fields. As a leader, Dr. Dhir has a passion for scaling companies that have a strong clinical mission and are disruptive in their sector.

Dr. Dhir most recently served as the CEO of a specialty services company, New Century Health, leading its transition from a regional player to a national company now considered an industry leader in the delivery of high-quality and value-based cancer and cardiac care. In October 2018, New Century Health was acquired by the publicly traded, Evolent Health.

Before joining New Century Health, Dr. Dhir served as CEO of BiPar Sciences, a cancer-focused biotech company that was a subsidiary of the global pharmaceutical company, Sanofi. At BiPar, Dr. Dhir led a highly innovative clinical and scientific team that was responsible for developing novel targeted therapies for breast, lung and ovarian cancers. In addition to his role as BiPar Sciences CEO, Dr. Dhir also served as a member of the Executive Committee of Sanofi’s global Oncology Business Unit.

Prior to BiPar Sciences, Dr. Dhir served as President of the Clinical Division of US Oncology, (now McKesson Specialty Health), one of the largest providers of community-based cancer care in the United States, while also serving as a member of its executive committee. During his time at US Oncology, Dr. Dhir built several innovative businesses, including the largest community-based cancer clinical research trial business in the United States. He also led the adoption of evidence-based clinical pathways in cancer care and started the Physician Leadership Training Institute. US Oncology was acquired by the publicly traded McKesson in 2010.

Dr. Dhir started his business management career as a consultant with the leading global strategy management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, in New York. At McKinsey, he worked with CEOs and senior executives of leading, for-profit and non-profit, healthcare companies in developing U.S. and international business strategy.

Dr. Dhir received his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He completed his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Oxford, UK, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
