Mikala Larson currently serves as a Sustainability Specialist for the City of Hopkins since January 2024. Previously, Mikala held the position of Sustainability Analyst for the City of Elgin, IL, where responsibilities included advancing sustainable initiatives and acting as the staff liaison to the Elgin Sustainability Commission. Mikala also served as a Waste Reduction, Recycling, and Organics Management Service Member with AmeriCorps in Carver County, leading various waste reduction projects. Earlier experience includes roles in talent acquisition at Life Time Inc. and Lifetouch, as well as a member services associate position at Life Time clubs. Mikala holds a Bachelor of Arts in German Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Linguistics from the University of Minnesota Duluth, complemented by an education experience at Universität Passau.
