Founded in 1835, Huntsville is one of Texas’ oldest cities and home of Sam Houston, the first and third President of the Republic of Texas and later Governor of the state. Huntsville is situated in the eastern Piney Woods region of the state.

Located in town are two of Houston's homes, a museum, and a 66 ft. statue which is the tallest statue of an American hero in the world. We are also home to Sam Houston State University, Texas Department of Criminal Justice (the only state agency with headquarters outside of Austin), and Huntsville State Park.

The Information Technology Team at the City of Huntsville, Texas, is responsible for managing and maintaining the city’s technological infrastructure. The IT Director oversees the department and strategic implementation of tech initiatives. The Help Desk Analyst provides technical support and troubleshooting for city staff, while the Network Administrator ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of the city’s network systems.
