Elizabeth Knighten is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in internal communications and journalism. Currently serving as the Internal Communications Coordinator for the City of Irving since May 2015, Elizabeth is responsible for creating and managing a weekly digital newsletter for over 2,000 employees, overseeing digital content for the intranet, and designing monthly print publications. Previously, as a Communications Analyst, Elizabeth led communication efforts for a significant $100 million infrastructure initiative. Elizabeth's earlier career includes roles as Editor and Staff Writer at The Dallas Morning News, Editor and Reporter at Star Local Media, and a Live Local Business Columnist for Advocate Media. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Texas, along with double-minors in English and social sciences.
