Roy Bené has extensive work experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. Roy currently serves as the Director of IT Infrastructure at the City of Irving since April 2022. Prior to this, they owned and founded Bene-Ficial IT Solutions in November 2021. Before that, they worked as the Director of Information Technology at PCI not the big company, where they led a team responsible for managing IT and cybersecurity operations. Roy also worked as the VP Director IT and Information Security Officer at NexBank, overseeing all company IT operations and cybersecurity. Earlier in their career, they held roles such as IT Manager/Senior Systems Engineer at KidKraft, where they led the design and implementation of network infrastructure for global expansion, and BHS Commissions Project Manager at Grindstone Group, LLC, overseeing the installation of baggage handling systems at airports. Roy Bené started their career as a Network Engineer at LANSource, where they managed the design and deployment of customer networks and led large-scale rollouts of workstations and operating systems.

Roy Bené has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. Roy also has an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Dallas, TX and an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute-Norfolk. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified Banking Security Manager and Certified Banking Security Technology Professional from the Texas Bankers Association, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ from CompTIA, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: Exchange Server 2016 from Microsoft, as well as Symantec SSE+ from Symantec.
