Karen Abel

Karen Abel is an accomplished arts professional with extensive experience in community art initiatives and leadership roles. As the owner of Karen Abel Designs since January 2016, Karen has focused on consulting and managing projects that utilize art to benefit non-profit organizations, businesses, and government entities, including developing an art welding program for Green River College. With a background as Executive Director and Curator at artEAST Art Center, Karen led the organization to significant growth, expanding its membership and community programs. Additionally, Karen is involved with Leadership Eastside and the City of Issaquah's Arts & Culture Planning Taskforce, emphasizing community engagement and strategic planning for the arts. A member of ArtTable, Karen actively participates in discussions around mentorship and arts administration. Karen holds a BA in Communications from the University of Washington.
