Jennifer Hinton

Deputy Chief Resilience Officer at City of Jacksonville

Jennifer "Jenny" Hinton (Peterson), Ph.D., currently serves as the Deputy Chief Resilience Officer and Waterfront and Preserve Manager for the City of Jacksonville since September 2021. Prior to this role, Jennifer worked as a Senior Program Analyst and Environmental Consultant for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection from September 2013 to August 2021, and as a Biological Scientist III at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission from May 2013 to January 2014, focusing on data management and analysis in fisheries habitat assessment. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of South Florida, earned in 2013, and a B.S. in Biological Science with a concentration in Marine Ecology from Florida State University, completed in 2007. Jennifer also gained research experience as a Graduate Research Fellow at NOAA and as a Research Technician at Florida International University.
