Tony E. Thomas

Tony E. Thomas serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the City of Jonesboro since January 2021. Previously, Tony held the position of Executive Director at Crowley's Ridge Development Council, Inc. from May 2018 to January 2021, focusing on creating opportunities for disadvantaged individuals across eight counties in Northeast Arkansas. Prior to this, Tony was the Assistant to the County Judge in Craighead County, overseeing county operations and federal programs from January 2011 to April 2018. Tony also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Faculty member at Arkansas State University, instructing graduate-level courses in Grant Writing and Administration from May 2011 to March 2018. Additional roles included Grants/Project Administrator for the City of Jonesboro and Director of Upward Bound at Arkansas State University. Early career experience includes teaching at Jonesboro Public Schools. Tony's educational background encompasses a graduate degree from Arkansas State University spanning education, accounting, and counseling, in addition to attending Turrell High School.
