DJ Yearwood currently serves as the Executive Aide to Councilwoman Melissa Patterson Hazley for the City of Kansas City, MO, where responsibilities include driving policy initiatives and managing strategic operations for the Third District. Yearwood also chairs the Kansas City Youth Commission, amplifying youth voices in local government and promoting civic engagement. Previous roles include serving as an Assistant to Elected Officials, Senior Advisor for Youth Advocacy, and holding various positions in electoral campaigns, such as Campaign Field Director for Melesa Johnson and Field Operations Manager for Justin Short. Yearwood contributes to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids as a Board Member and directs efforts to lower the voting age in Missouri with Vote16MO. Additional experience includes a position as Community Impact Coordinator at the Urban Neighborhood Initiative.
