David Simpson

David Simpson currently serves as the Executive Director of Smith-Gilbert Gardens under the City of Kennesaw since October 2023. Prior to this role, David held various positions at Trees Atlanta from October 2015 to September 2023, including Planting Director and NeighborWoods Manager, where responsibilities included managing urban forestry operations and collaborating with multiple municipalities to plant and maintain over 6,000 trees each year. David's earlier experience includes roles such as Lead Horticulturist at Smith-Gilbert Gardens, Director of Grounds at Historic Columbia Foundation, and Gardener/Program Educator at Boxerwood Nature Center. David holds a Master of Science in Plant & Environmental Sciences from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Presbyterian College.
