William Ellis has a diverse work experience in economic development and planning. William started their career as a Consulting Planner at Robert Orr & Associates in 2007. William then pursued a graduate degree at Cornell University from 2006 to 2009. Following their education, they worked as an Economic Development Analyst for the City of Eugene, where they played a key role in establishing the Oregon Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network and worked on various projects, including the City's Broadband Plan. In 2014, they joined the City of Kent, Washington, as an Economic Development Analyst, where they worked until 2017. During this time, they further developed their expertise in economic development. William then transitioned to the Port of Seattle as an Economic Development Manager from September 2017 to March 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Economic Development Officer at the City of Kent, Washington, starting in March 2018.
William Ellis attended Xavier High School from 1997 to 2001. William then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Political Science at the University of Rochester from 2001 to 2006. After completing their undergraduate studies, they enrolled in Cornell University from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning.
