Gail Dewey, SHRM-SCP, PHR, has had a progressive career in human resources. Gail began as a Compensation and Benefits Coordinator at Advange Health Physicians in 1999, where they worked until 2006. Gail then transitioned to the role of Human Resources Generalist at the City of East Grand Rapids from 2007 to 2013. Currently, Gail is serving as the Human Resources Director for the City of Kentwood since 2013.

Gail Dewey, SHRM-SCP, PHR is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations at Michigan State University, a program they have been enrolled in since 2018 and is expected to complete in 2023. Prior to pursuing their Master's Degree, Gail obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Aquinas College - Grand Rapids.

Additionally, Gail has obtained several certifications to further enhance their educational and professional qualifications. In 2016, they obtained the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM. In 2008, they obtained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI. Furthermore, they have also obtained a Certificate in Organizational Inclusion & Diversity from Michigan State University in January 2020.
