James E. Kirkwood, PE, Fellow MSPE has extensive work experience as a civil engineer. James E. worked at Prein&Newhof as a Civil Engineering Consultant from May 1989 to March 2021, where they were licensed as a Professional Engineer by the State of Michigan. Currently, they serve as the Director of Engineering & Inspections at the City of Kentwood, starting in March 2021. In this role, they oversee the Engineering and Inspections departments, ensuring the successful completion of construction projects and handling various responsibilities such as engineering review, drainage, public utilities, floodplains, sewer and water systems, stormwater control, sidewalks, and public ways.
James E. Kirkwood, PE, Fellow MSPE earned their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.) from the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1989. James E. then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Management (M.M.) from Aquinas College - Grand Rapids, completing their degree in 2000.
