Andrea Peterman, MPA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. In 2000, they worked as a Content Editor and Writer for Fodor's Travel, where they wrote, edited, and researched content for various online city guides and travel books. From 2003 onwards, Andrea pursued a career in music as a Songwriter and Recording Artist under their own company, Andrea Peterman/Highway W Music (ASCAP). Andrea successfully licensed original songs for TV, film, and commercials, and also managed the recording and release of two full-length albums. In 2004, they briefly worked as a Copy Editor and Researcher for The Hollywood Reporter.

In 2006, Andrea co-founded KatyBaby Designs, a business specializing in handmade children's products sold in high-end boutiques across multiple states. Andrea handled various aspects of the business, including file management, order processing, inventory management, and design work.

In 2018, Andrea undertook consultancy roles for both 4Culture and FareStart. At 4Culture, they were part of a graduate consulting team for the King County Cultural Health Study and produced a comprehensive research report on government cultural plans and reports in King County. At FareStart, they conducted market analysis on livable wage job opportunities in the food service industry to benefit FareStart graduates.

Most recently, Andrea worked for the City of Kirkland, starting in 2019. Andrea initially served as a Budget Analyst, responsible for budget analysis and planning. Later, they assumed the role of Senior Financial Analyst, where they continued to utilize their financial expertise.

Andrea Peterman, MPA, holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Music and History from Northwestern University. Andrea furthered their education at the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance, University of Washington, where they obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. During their time at the Evans School, Andrea focused on various subjects including Public Sector Finance and Budgeting, Policy Analysis, Food Policy, and Social Policy. In addition to their formal education, they also earned a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, Cornell University, through eCornell in February 2016.
